Florists in the United States range from neighborhood flower shops with a walk-in cooler to studio designers who work only by appointment for weddings and events. Most retail florists build arrangements to order, deliver the same day when you call before early afternoon, and belong to a wire network (FTD, Teleflora or BloomNet) that passes out-of-town orders to a local shop. Ordering from the shop directly rather than through a national website usually means more flowers for the money, because no order-gatherer takes a cut. Flower markets and wholesalers sell loose stems and bunches, often early in the morning, and many now open to the public. Flower farms grow seasonal blooms such as dahlias, peonies and sunflowers and sell by the bucket, by subscription or as pick-your-own.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–6 pm. Scotia is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Scotia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great farm fresh produce. Strawberries are delicious but not to be beat by the asparagus.

I always really enjoy coming here. I like to get the fresh air, but I always love to see the festive things and the yummy treats they have.

Went on an overcast Saturday AM. We picked a lot of berries and were excited to enjoy them. Big mistake. We should have tasted some before taking/picking the strawberries. Bitter! I don’t think they were ready for picking but Buhrmaster was open and people were picking. I’d skip this U-Pick. Bitter berries and expensive too. Not worth the labor and not worth the time and definitely not worth the taste! Staff was not informative and they should post visible, large signs with prices. Just disappointed.

So great and everyone is so friendly. I have no clue why it took me so long to go there.

If you haven't tried their to-go meals, YOU MUST!!! Perfectly portioned for lunches, dinners, etc. Single portions, of course. Love getting produce from here, and I love supporting local! The staff is always incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable
